‘Old enough to know better’

Messy children are always cute. But what if I told you that this person was
actually 37 years old and a respected member of the City Council? And what if
you believed me and proceeded to write a series of scathing editorials in the local
paper attacking his fitness for public service? And what if he retaliated by burning
down your house while you and your family slept inside? And what if the whole
mess was actually my fault, because I lied to you, and the person in the photo
really is the innocent toddler he appears to be?

I’ll tell you what would happen. The little rat would still get the
chair, because murder is never, ever justified.
